On behalf of the 15,000 members of the International Union of Operating Engineers, Local 18, we welcome you to the Apprenticeship and Training Program.

Local 18 has been serving the needs of Ohio Operating Engineers for sixty-four years. Our jurisdiction covers eighty-five counties in Ohio and four in northern Kentucky. The counties in Kentucky are Boone, Kenton, Campbell and Pendleton. Local 18 does not cover the counties of Mahoning, Columbiana and Trumbull in Ohio.

Local 18 has a very extensive and successful training program due to the dedication and hard work of its staff. Their concern for progress and their willingness to achieve this is evident. The Training Program has four (4) state-of-the-art training facilities, which are renowned as the best in the country. These four facilities are located in Ohio at Richfield, Cygnet, Logan and Miamisburg.

The skills required today in this industry are changing faster than ever before. We must adopt an attitude of life-long learning if we are going to successfully compete in this industry. New technologies are developing to make our industry more productive; we must keep our skills up to date.

We are constantly urging long-standing members, as well as new members, to continue to train and upgrade their skills in order to remain competitive in this industry. Each of our training facilities has an all-weather building which enables us to train year round.

With the growing demand for highly skilled Operating Engineers, training will help you achieve a better quality of life and pave the way to steady employment.

Remember our motto, "Together we train, together we gain!"
